The tuning system of the AT230 is driven by a built-in controlled stepper motor, and the control instructions are issued by the AT104 controller between the radio and the AT230 antenna. Tuning operation is performed by the radio's tuning key or AT104's PTT key. During tuning, the controlled stepping motor pulls the lower half of the whip body to change the inductance value of the middle, and obtains the best standing wave ratio at the selected communication frequency. The AT230 antenna is equipped with a broadband low-noise receiver amplifier (gain of about 10dB), so the reception quality is much better than the ordinary whip antenna. The amplifier is automatically turned off during transmission.
The housing of the AT230 antenna is made of high-strength aluminum alloy, and the structure is sturdy. The tuning and transmitting parts are placed in a sealed base, and all external interfaces are strictly sealed. In order to cushion bumpy road vibrations, rubber cushioning components are installed in the base of the AT230. AT230 antenna is mainly used for various vehicles or small ships, and can also be installed on the roof as a base station antenna. The AT230 antenna is controlled and tuned by the AT104 controller between the radio and the antenna. AT104 only controls, tuning is performed in the antenna.
AT104 is managed by the CPU. By setting the 8-bit DIP switch inside the AT104, the AT230 antenna can be adapted to any type of short-wave radio.
